THE PRESENT OR THE PAST
Lucky Saint Luis is as much a inovative project as it is the big part of european music history from 70s until today. First press who wrote about the guitar player and composer was germans music magazine "DAS DING" in 1978 when he presented his Hard Rock group from Cologne BISON MOVE. A long way gone in music, in life, in art, in business and in science related fields Lucky Saint Luis is called one of the most interesting persons to qualified journalism and media.
As performing artist Lucky Saint Luis took the desicion not to get comercial although he played countless times with his various bands, in jams or in "out of blue perfomances" . In 1980 he won a important prize of a german press after impressing in one of those famouse jams in EL PARAISO, Amsterdam. On stage with Frank Zappa, Herman Brood and all the cream of dutch, british, french and german musicians Paraiso and Melkweg in Amsterdam became heart and center of the european rock musicians.
Still a student he involved himself in the basic structures of environment, human aid and democratic developments and initiated a sequence of festivals across Germany where he met and exchanged with musicians such as Pat Travers, B B King, Johnny Winter, Brownie McGhee, Robin Trower, Molly Hatchet, Lynyrd Skynnyrd, etc etc
By the time he became profesional he kept playing but also suporting a number of other musicians and started teaching guitar play. Moving to Spain he played in Ibiza and Barcelona, recorded a number of songs with spanish musicians and di what all working musicians do: enjoying.
He plays the blues, he plays the rock, soul, funk, country, house, reggae, jazz, latin, punk, classic but he plays it in Lucky Saint Luis style with a very big tendency to electricity.
In 2002 he got stranded in Colombia and played with Andrés El Fat Rodriguez, Tavo, Pelos, Iván and Lot of Marca Pajaros.
He learned about colombian musicians and local musics and founded a live performance project under the name of ELFOS and presented in Bogotá and Bucaramanga. Since that time latin influences are strong ritmical influences in the music of Lucky Saint Luis.
Back to Spain he recorded material for 3 more CDs and invited famouse spanish musicians into his group in order to satisfy the european public. Again one of the largest civil movements declared Lucky Saint Luis worthy to represent the fusion between Southamerica and Europe/USA contemporaneous music and he won the first prize within a selection of more than 3000 groups or musicians of the spanish language. Santana, Mana, Juanes, Bunburry, Shakira, etc did not fulfil authenticity of latin and western heritage so Lucky Saint Luis is made the oficial cultural representative between both worlds to a community of 8 million people and growing.
COLOMBIA ESPECIAL
Dado a su fuerte vinculo con las culturas andinas por parte humanitaria Lucky Saint Luis empeña mucha voluntad a favor de Colombia y ultimamente también a Perú, Chile y Ecuador. Todo un experto reconocido en cuestiones latinas tanto como musico o como profesional es mayor su empeño que el de todos los políticos juntos. Insignificante en contexto de carera, de conciertos o de ventas de CDs dentro de Sudamerica lleva verdad y cultura de los pueblos humildes a la conciencia de europeos y gringos para disminuir la brutalidad de prejuicios y superficialidades culturales formados por el consumismo/materialismo hueco.
A pesar de tener agenda llena hasta inclusive 2011 se presentara en Bogotá, Barranquilla, Bucaramanga, Cali, Medellín, Lima, Trujillo, Cuzco, Santiago y Buenos Aires durante 2008 y de acuerdo con su discográfica.
Donde ya los conocieron en Colombia?
Una parte muy rudimentaria de la totalidad de las canciones conocieron por representar bajo nombre de proyecto: ELFOS en Crabs, Embrujobar, Santiamen, en el Cinderella y otros lugares de Bogotá, igual como en Viladeleiba o en Bucaramanga como invitados especiales al decimo aniversario de la radio cultural. Nada mas un proyecto improvisado y en circunstancias poco favorables dejaron LSL y sus comapañeros diversos la huella de la felicidad, de la admiración y del baile entre rock n roll y la salsa. Memorizado en el CD "Hecho a mano en Colombia" pueden escuchar esta navidad muestras del disco por internet y por medio de la pagina web oficial.
Todas las cadenas de radio y de televisión colombiana donde emitieron las musicas de LSL y Cia en el 2002/3 recibirán material completo por parte de la discográfica en New York y los demás lo solicitan a través e mail LuckySaintLuis@gmail.com
